It's easy to get frustrated when the IT we rely on has glitches every now and then. Thankfully we do have a dedicated team in Lagan College who aim to help solve these issues and do so on a daily basis.

One improvement we would ask you all to support us on is to ensure we are all using  the fault reporting system to report any major IT issues holding back your teaching.

Matt and Kevin deal with a large influx of issues every day from a variety of  angles. We feel it is much more efficient to log these calls easily on the system.

Using StumbleUpon to find Class Resources

Desperate to stumble upon that one resource of which you have dreamed, but which you have not yet happened upon?  There may be a way…

To find the best possible resources and to do as much as possible with as little as possible have always seemed to me to be two essential tenets in teaching.  Following these notions is not always easy, or even possible, but the discovery of innovative and unexpected resources and ideas is still something to be striven for.  If we should happen to discover a facility that can help in this endeavour, by accident or design, then so much the better.

Many thanks to Raymond Cummings for writing this article based on his personal experiences using the StumbleUpon app to find resources for his class!

Note: StumbleUpon unfortunately doesn't work on the C2K network, but works great from home.

Many Thanks to Claire Taggart for this tip!
We have all been there! We have sat down to write an email to the teachers of a year group or department and slowly went through adding name by name tediously before we even get to write the email!

This post is aimed at stopping that and saving you time and wasted energy by allowing you to create your own email groups

Why You Shouldn't Force-Quit Apps on your iPad

We've all heard people say it - you should always close down all of your open apps on of your iPad, right? Wrong!

In the world of PC's, the more apps you have open at once the slower your computer gets and the quicker it runs out of battery. Except the iPad isn't a traditional computer, it's much smarter than that!
