They say that every cloud has a silver lining and the creation of this brilliant FACEBOOK group is one of those positive highlights. This website is testament to what can be achieved by effective collaboration and learning from each other. We have talked about Sharing good practice for years and many of us have practiced this - This Facebook site is full of amazing ideas from local teachers just like us. Join up as soon as you can- Over 4,000 Northern Ireland teachers joined in one week! 

Derek Mooney and his team of Showbie aces have clearly demonstrated how to use Showbie well with the pupils.  They have provided a range of great tips here but have also provided some brilliant examples :-)

Office 365 is the range of high quality Microsoft apps that we are all used too... and others in the family which you may not have heard of!  This handy online training course allows you to teach yourself the basics of a wide range of these apps allowing you to get a handle on things in your own time and at your own pace.

​As educators in Lagan College, we know that your time is precious. Finally at the end of the year, we hope that your workload is starting to lift as we head for the end of term! We want to make sure that as many people as possible have access to hands-on training sessions before we depart this year, and so we're organising an 'Upskill Week' all next week in which we'll be running the majority of sessions during school time, covering our most popular topics from this year!

At this point in the year, you're probably starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. All your senior students have left on study-leave and all of a sudden you're left with this strange thing called 'free-time'. Well, now is the perfect opportunity to experiment and learn about that new app you've been dying to try out, especially in preparation for next year!

We've scheduled to re-run a couple of popular sessions in May on Google Classroom, Google Drive and Showbie. Then in June we're going to finish off  the year with organising your digital planner in iDoceo, tapping into the power of the Interactive Whiteboard that's behind you in every class, before ending by creating an online space for your digital resources using Weebly.

Normally our training sessions take place in F34, however for all of the iBooks training sessions we will be meeting in the Music Mac Suite instead as we need access to Macs in order to run iBooks Author. We've contacted everyone who has already signed up so far, but we'd appreciate if you could let anyone else know about the room change who is planning to attend :)
