Many thanks to Kay for catching up with us this week!
Here at TeacherTec we love to share experiences from staff who are using Technology in their classrooms. This week we caught up with Kay Wightman to see how she has been using Showbie in her teaching, what issues she's encountered so far and what advice she would give to someone starting for the first time!
Many thanks to Kay for catching up with us this week!

Well folks, here it is. The moment you've been waiting for. SIMS has arrived on the iPad! From now on, you are no longer tethered to your PC to mark attendance, find student info or update your marksheets. Now you can easily mark your attendance from the playing fields, look up a parent's phone number on the move, or update your marksheets as you're marking coursework from home. Of course, we've updated TeacherTec with full step-by-step guides on everything you need to know about SIMS for iPad. We'll also be organising some hands on training before the end of the year if you'd like to ask any questions face to face. But for now, enjoy your new freedom as you roam the world with access to SIMS on iPad! Here at TeacherTec we love to share experiences from staff who are using Technology in their classrooms. This week we caught up with Alex Bell to see how she has been using iDoceo instead of a paper lesson planner, what issues she's encountered so far and what advice she would give to someone starting for the first time! Many thanks to Alex for catching up with us this week!
We've added a new section to TeacherTec which we hope will be very useful to all educators using Technology! The folks at the App Store have put together some very interesting collections of Apps for education that we've linked to on our new App Store Collections page, such as 'Tools for Teachers', 'School Toolkit', as well as apps for specific subjects. The App Store Collections should be regularly updated by Apple and you can always find them via our Recommended page. Let us know of any useful apps you've found in these collections! Everyone has some kind of party trick. One person might be able to 'guess' the number that you're thinking of, another might try to impress the crowd with their unique rendition of Wonderwall (don't do that). At your next party, you can be the coolest kid on the block when you whip out your iPad and navigate it like magic with these 3 Multi-tasking Gestures! Welcome back to the third and final term of this school year! Only 13 more weeks until we can fulfil the stereotype that makes everyone else jealous of our career choices (if only they knew!) That also means that we're coming into the final push for exam season. We're going to hold back on delivering Training sessions in Lagan College whilst the majority of staff are going to be heavily preoccupied, but we'd love to end the final weeks of this year in June by organising training on the topics that you'd love to attend. Please send us a message to let us know what you'd like to learn before the end of the term! As we eluded to before Easter, there are one or two very exciting iPad developments coming up in the next few weeks. To keep updated, be sure to keep checking back to TeacherTec! John & Peter :) PS, Just before Easter we got tweeted to by the fabulous guys over at Showbie. Consider us officially starstruck! |
Welcome to TeacherTec,We are aiming to create the best collection of resources for using technology in your classroom!
