This is one of my favourite apps and is a gem to use in the classroom. This allows your class to fly directly to the places they are learning about - the forests in Amazonia .. and the destruction of deforestation. The scenes of favourite books. The castles and battlefields of history. The sites of famous paintings. This little video shows how to use this to enhance lessons.
This is perhaps one of the most asked questions at the beginning of the year regarding iDoceo and is easy to forget. Once you have your timetable assembled and are sure that it won't change much, you will want to copy it to replicate it through the academic year. This video talks you through the steps to do this.
This short video shows you how to construct your timetable for Schedule and planner. You do this at the start of the year / At set up. Once complete you shouldn't have to revisit this - unless the timetable changes!
This short video shows you how to add your classes manually using iDoceo.
It shows you how to add the class ; the details ; the colour and how to place the class in the schedule. It also explains how to delete the classes if not needed or misplaced.
This short video aims to show you how you can transfer / copy one of your existing classes from a previous year. This prevents you having to needlessly create a new class from scratch. You have the options of copying the names or you can copy some of the columns and data too.
It also shows you how to hide or delete previous classes.
As you can see this is fabulous when combined with other apps like Comic Life.
There is a free version to this app and a PRO version. I did go on to buy the Pro version and I have used it regularly ever since.
This is a brilliant website called edtechteacher.org. It was found by Jayne Atkinson. It is designed specifically around using iPads in schools and has lots of app recommendations for a huge variety of tasks as well as recommending lesson ideas - Full of inspiration!! Check it out by clicking on the picture or following this link: http://edtechteacher.org/apps#Begin
Office 365 is the range of high quality Microsoft apps that we are all used too... and others in the family which you may not have heard of! This handy online training course allows you to teach yourself the basics of a wide range of these apps allowing you to get a handle on things in your own time and at your own pace.
There are going to be websites that are essential for the subject you teach! These may be subject specific websites you produce like Lagan History, Politics, RE, English, Physics or Maths. They may also be past paper questions or mark schemes from the exam board. Instead of wasting time looking these up or googling them why not try to add an 'app' link to these sites on your iPad. It is easy to do! Follow the steps below:
This is one of the most commonly asked questions at this time of year. Now that you all have your class lists this is a run through of how to send them through to iDoceo from SIMS. There are new ways to save the files on to Google Drive but I will cover that later. There are a few steps in this but I guarantee once you do one class it will be easy!
This is quite a commonly asked question. You may have your new timetable all put in and nicely colour coded BUT it doesn't replicate into the rest of the year! Don't worry there are just a few simple steps to sort this out.
If you have classes in your iDoceo which you are not teaching this year but you want to save details and marks - simply follow these simple steps to 'hide' them. This will keep them on your system but neatly tucked away so as not to interfere with your current years groups
You may have a class that you have carried on from last year. Instead of having to put the class details in laboriously again .. simply follow these steps to copy.

Zuludesk is now available for all teachers to use with Years 9 & 10.
Try to make yourself aware of how much classroom power this gives you. It should be an answer to many teachers worries about the iPads use in the classroom.
What can it do?
I will be sending out a section each day on how to use Zuludesk effectively. Please look over and familiarise yourself with this piece of software.
Today's section is from the very beginnings: How to Log On to Zuludesk:
iDoceo has now become indispensable to many of us. We have lots of our pupils marks and progress recorded on it. Many of us have also used it to record examples of good or indeed poor homework for parental interviews. The thought of all this going missing therefore would fill many of us with dread. As with everything, the solution is simply to back up your iDoceo. This is a straightforward process you will be glad to know.
Read on to find out how to Backup - Simply. Allowing you peace of mind for the future
