Many thanks to Dave Ewart for volunteering to take the OneNote workshops. These are on in F34 every Tuesday afternoon in September 2018.There is also a very good website on OneNote - taking you through the set up step by step and giving plenty of teaching tips. Click below to link up and check it out. Thank you to Jayne Atkinson for this link.

One issue which tends to come up a lot at this time of year is google log in details. As pupils go to log on for the first time or the first time in a couple of months they run into log in issues. Invariably this has to do with them not using the @lagancollege.co.uk username. If they use this there shouldn't be an issue.
Derek Mooney and his team of Showbie aces have clearly demonstrated how to use Showbie well with the pupils. They have provided a range of great tips here but have also provided some brilliant examples :-)
One really good way to place an announcement for staff; form classes ; Year groups or the whole school is through the MySpace website which should be your opening web browser.
This is very easy to do and can get across to your audience key information in a quick bulletin entry. Follow the easy steps below: It is getting to that time of year again when you are putting your pupils through their paces with exam timing a key priority. This great little selection of PowerPoint timers from www.a6training.co.uk are fab. You can choose the time you want and cut and paste them into your Presentation! Thanks to Ian McCaugherty and Dave Ewart for sharing This is a brilliant website called edtechteacher.org. It was found by Jayne Atkinson. It is designed specifically around using iPads in schools and has lots of app recommendations for a huge variety of tasks as well as recommending lesson ideas - Full of inspiration!! Check it out by clicking on the picture or following this link: http://edtechteacher.org/apps#Begin
Thanks Jayne Sending and receiving emails to large groups of people instead of the specific groups you need can be frustrating. In order to make it easy for you to send your emails directly to the people required this post explains how to set up your own dedicated email group or groups to make it much easier in future to target certain key people.
Office 365 is the range of high quality Microsoft apps that we are all used too... and others in the family which you may not have heard of! This handy online training course allows you to teach yourself the basics of a wide range of these apps allowing you to get a handle on things in your own time and at your own pace.
There are going to be websites that are essential for the subject you teach! These may be subject specific websites you produce like Lagan History, Politics, RE, English, Physics or Maths. They may also be past paper questions or mark schemes from the exam board. Instead of wasting time looking these up or googling them why not try to add an 'app' link to these sites on your iPad. It is easy to do! Follow the steps below: This is a great discovery by David Ewart. It is a really handy poster designed by Allan Carrington running through possible uses of the iPads based on the Blooms principles. Click to download
This is one of the most commonly asked questions at this time of year. Now that you all have your class lists this is a run through of how to send them through to iDoceo from SIMS. There are new ways to save the files on to Google Drive but I will cover that later. There are a few steps in this but I guarantee once you do one class it will be easy! This is quite a commonly asked question. You may have your new timetable all put in and nicely colour coded BUT it doesn't replicate into the rest of the year! Don't worry there are just a few simple steps to sort this out. If you have classes in your iDoceo which you are not teaching this year but you want to save details and marks - simply follow these simple steps to 'hide' them. This will keep them on your system but neatly tucked away so as not to interfere with your current years groups |
