YouTube has become a fantastic resource for video content that can be used in the classroom. Wouldn’t it be handy to be able to download these video files, or even convert them to MP3 audio files, and use them in your teaching projects? Read on to find out how!

Thanks to Michelle Beckett for the suggested post!
Many websites have been set up for free that let you download a YouTube clip as either as an MP4 video file or an MP3 audio file. The quality of these websites and their ease of use can vary, but the ones we currently recommend are ‘YouTubeInMP4.com’ and ‘YouTubeInMP3.com’.

Both websites work in exactly the same way. First, you need to find a YouTube video that you would like to download. Next, you need to copy the url of that YouTube video - e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlpY7cnL2QE

Now, simply open up either ‘YouTubeInMP4.com’ or ‘YouTubeInMP3.com’, paste in your YouTube link and then ‘Download’ or ‘Convert’. Your YouTube clip should now be downloading onto your computer!

A solution which is perhaps even more simple is to type in the letters 'ss' before the word 'youtube' within the web address.
