What is Showbie Pro?

Showbie is a fantastic app that let's teachers and students share work with each other digitally on the iPads. Showbie Pro offers many benefits over the regular version, which we're excited to be bringing into Lagan College in August!

But what exactly are the benefits of using Showbie Pro? Read on to find out!

1. Type On Documents

Probably the biggest bug-bear about the standard version of Showbie is the in-ability to type onto PDF's that teachers send out. There are ways around this using other apps, but when you're trying to manage a large number of students, being able to do this all in the main Showbie app can be a deal breaker!

2. Change Pen Colour And Thickness

By default, Showbie only lets a teacher write with a Red pen and a student with a Black pen. Showbie Pro unlocks the ability for teacher and students to pick from a range of pen colours, as well as change the thickness of the pen stroke

3. Larger File Sizes

Showbie normally limits the file size of work from teachers and students to 25mb, which is fine for most documents and PDF's. However, when you start to experiment with making movies or sending out iBooks, 25mb can become a little restrictive! Luckily, Showbie Pro ups the file size limit to 500mb to give everyone a little more breathing room

4. Showbie For Parents

A neat feature you won't find in the standard version of Showbie is the ability to let Parent's log in from their iPad or PC and see all of the assignments their student has been set and the work their student has created for them, giving parents an extra layer of transparency

5. School Managed Accounts

When a school is rolling out Showbie to hundreds or thousands of students, having the ability to manage all of those accounts in one place becomes essential. Showbie Pro gives your IT Administrator the ability to create accounts for all the teachers and students in the school, as well as reset their passwords if anyone forgets theirs
