Google Classroom has evolved consistently over the past few years. I have updated the Google Classroom section to take account of this. There are a number of departments working with Google Classroom this year
I have tried to illustrate in this updated section how easy it is to set up and monitor Google Classroom and how it could be essential as a teaching and learning tool. One issue which tends to come up a lot at this time of year is google log in details. As pupils go to log on for the first time or the first time in a couple of months they run into log in issues. Invariably this has to do with them not using the @lagancollege.co.uk username. If they use this there shouldn't be an issue.
The snipping tool is an excellent way to cut out or cut around digital images so you can use them in imaginative teaching ways. You could cut out one section of a photo for example or cut out a Source for Geography, History or English. It is very easy to do and is free on your PC's Here at TeacherTec we love to share experiences from staff who are using Technology in their classrooms. This week we caught up with Maria McConville to see how she has been using Google Classroom in her teaching, what issues she's encountered so far and what advice she would give to someone starting for the first time! Many thanks to Maria for catching up with us this week! Take a second to think about how many pages you print or photocopy in just one week for your classes. Then think about how many pages of homework you collect in from your students each week. Multiply that by 39 weeks - that's a lot of paper! Lately, a new crop of apps have emerged such as Showbie and Google Classroom that boast a number of benefits to embracing a 'Paperless Classroom'. Here are our Top 3 advantages to joining the revolution! As we've been exploring new ways to use Technology in our lessons, two very capable apps have emerged that promise to help you create a totally paperless classroom. Google Classroom and Showbie both set out to make the transfer of work from teachers to students a breeze and are very similar in many ways. Both let you set up 'virtual classrooms' and give you a unique 'class code' for your students to join. They also can both be accessed from any PC or Mac and also have iPad apps. But which is right for you in your classroom? Read on to find out! |
